Chosen Solution

After logging in to “any” operating system or with windows at the login screen The screen immediately goes black,(Black screen is not a software issue as Control,Alt,Delete results in nothing). I want to know the location of the graphics card? and if there is a way to disable it in the board? to test my theory where as if it is the graphics card which is the cause of the issue the act of disabling it would solve it (Levovo Y700 uses a 960m which is the secondary graphics unit where Intel integrated graphics are the primary graphics processor ) ⯆Things/ problems with the laptop which could (Most likely aren’t related)⯆ hard drive replacement with a 248 gigabyte ssdMinor damage to front screen (Crack at the top right of the display)missing plastic with exposed wire at the bottom right at the end corner near the keyboard.Slight shock damage (has never caused problems before)Possible wifi card malfunction I would also love to hear a solution or a possible action of repair I could preform if it is the gpu malfunction. I very much like the graphics card to be functional again where as I am not aware of any solution to fix this. I can take pictures if needed Please help.

Hi @corruptedcyborg , Have you checked in BIOS whether you can disable/enable the GPUs at all? Have you tried starting the laptop in “safe mode” to check if it works OK? I don’t know your laptop, but looking at the service manual , taken from this webpage, there are no separate graphics cards. I believe that the GPUs may be hard mounted on the systemboard. There is a separate WLAN module however, if you want to follow up your WiFi problem.
