Hi everyone! I have a weird problem with my MPB 13 2010. Sometimes it suddenly stops working. That time the screen gets solid grey, the keyboard backlight remains the same level but nothing can be do like the keyboard or functional keys stop working. I tried to plug the external display but it didn’t helped. Also the WiFi/Ethernet adapters stop working because I cannot connect to the laptop or even ping it. The USB ports have no power on them while the problem occurs. Any thoughts? Think it could be the GPU damaged as it works as a co-processor (as I know) or anything else on the logic board.
Sadly, this series uses a combo GPU/PCH chip made by NVIDIA which tends to fail. You’ll need a new logic board MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2010) 2.66 GHz Logic Board and here’s the guide to put it in MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010 Logic Board Replacement
