My friends’ mac had the spotlight issue on the bottom of his screen and a few minutes later the backlight went out. Wanna know if that’s something I can fix. I have the pro-tech kit and I know how to fix iPhones and Windows laptops but I’ve only ever explored a mac and not fixed one.
Hi Matthew! Great question! This issue IS fixable despite what the big bitten fruit may claim.This issue will require more knowledge and tooling than a Pro-Tech kit alone. This repair will require board level diagnostics and micro-soldering to repair most likely - although it is certainly possible that replacing the display panel alone may resolve the issue.I would advise testing with a known-good display panel and then proceeding from there.
