It should be possible using the HPBR (HP bios reset utility) which creates a bootable DOS application. I’m creating the bootable utility, but the device doesn’t seem to recognize is on any USB port. Depends of what the generation do you have, I think the easy way is reading the BIOS chip a unlock the BIOS file with software, you can find o ebay clean BIOS chips for some generations but if you have a new model you have to flash the BIOS due to TMP Chip on your Motherboard....

Chosen Solution When I plug the headphone into the phone jack, the sound stops working and create a popping sound ( in the earpiece) instead. It doesn’t matters what sound source (You tube, music)comes from and the program locks up until I unplug the phone jack and sound resume though the external phone speakers. Looks like the phone jack is temporary shorted inside the unit until I unplug the jack....

Chosen Solution How to Replace glass screen @pattyv56 the glass is adhered the the display. Not an easy repair and it will require some specialized tools and very good skills to separate the glass and subsequently the re-adhere it. If you have not done this before or do not have the right tools, I am suggesting that you do not attempt this. Unless of course you want to give it a try and get good at it....
