Chosen Solution I have a Vaio VGN-CR490E whose HDD I want to replace with an SSD, but one of the screws that holds the drive in the bracket is stripped. One of the screws on the inside is stripped as well. For large stripped screws I’ve heard you can unscrew them if you put a rubber band between the screw and the screwdriver, but that doesn’t seem to work for these smaller screws....

If you have to pick something out of it (pocket lint etc.) use no more than a toothpick. stay away from anything like metal. Usually all you need is a few drops of high grade (90%+) isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of air (like air in can) those electronic dusters....
Chosen Solution I know it seems an odd question, but it is a SERIOUS one. The discharging of Apple batteries [mainly I am interested - iPhone and iPads] is VERY important. You do not want to have a pile of old batteries still charged. You are increasing chance or FIRE! Also, they might be defective when replacing them too and would be MUCH better discharge them properly and securely, then dismount it....
Chosen Solution how to fix/repair black screen Hi @haiti , As a DIY repair all you can do is to first open the phone and check that the display assembly flex cable is securely connected to the systemboard. If it appears to be OK you then have to temporarily replace the display assembly to know whether the problem is in the display assembly or in the systemboard. Update (12/11/2018) sorry, not that one, what i said is bellow one (like + design) @khadong if that is the screw in question, you an use a slotted screwdriver to remove that screw. Get one that fits the slot properly. As the man above me said, you need a slotted screw and possibly a bendable driver extension to reach it. Good Luck
Chosen Solution Broken battery cover, how can i replace it with an new one ? What parts to disassemble ? @noname_germany the battery compartment door is held in place by a pin (step 2 of the guide). You have to remove the back cover of your camera. there will be a small spring round the pin, watch the way it is installed. This will be important. Once the back removed, pull the pin (watch the spring) and that will free the door....
Chosen Solution The Cellphone’s camera flash does not turn on although the flash icon is turned on. I assume the flash burned out. How do you replace it? if it can be replaced? I do not think you’ll be able to replace it by yourself, as it is soldered directly onto the motherboard. Look for a shop that can do microsoldering. They might be able to fix it for you.

Yes, I found a used nook @ yard sale. B4 tearing down the yard sale nook, I √ to make sure it was going to charge 1st. Then I removed the port from that one & replaced my bad port....

Chosen Solution The inside rubber part of the blender that’s connected to the base not the blade (not sure what it’s called) came loose and won’t screw back on. It appears the treading is worn out. On some iPhones the home button needs to be transferred. Is it OK to order the replacement with the home button and replace it? Chosen Solution I’ve been refurbishing 2011 27” iMacs for a while now and I’ve come across 2 logic boards with a strange symptom. Both of them cause the GPU to run at 100MHz instead of the normal 680MHz. Everything else on these boards functions properly. I’m thinking there’s a voltge or current problem but I don’t know what to check. Any clues? @notenufgarage - I think you damaged one of the two ferrite beads near the sensor connectors....
Chosen Solution I have had my thunderbolt display for a while and no issues until one day it seems to click, and the green appeared. After about 10-15mins it disappears and the screen is back to normal. The green is all over with what looks like some image persistence at the sides. I have stripped the display back but could see anything obvious then wasn’t sure what to look for. I gave everything a clean with a blower, a long shot but no joy… Any advice welcome....

Now the light doesn’t work. Is this all connected? Does something else need fixing? Can you please specify the make and model of the microwave.
