The phone line is ok when another phone is plugged in. Unfortunately it sounds like you probably broke a connection in the handset, or maybe the circuit board. Very difficult to find and fix. If you are into it, take the case apart and look carefully under high magnification at everything inside for visible signs of damage....
Chosen Solution I don’t have anything I need to desolder but I would like to learn how to desolder the plastic ribbon cable connectors for things like a keyboard or trackpad. I had tried a few times on stuff that doesn’t work and either nothing happens or the connector melts. If I hold a hot air gun over the connector the connector comes off but it is melted pretty bad. If I wave the how air gun around it doesn’t come off....

The new HDD does not show in either Disk Utility & Terminal (diskutil list) In Disk Utility, for example, all that shows is: Internal: Apple SDD SM128 Media Container disk2 Mac HD Disk Images Apple disk image Media The new HDD is 4TB Toshiba HGST SATA 3, complete with the OWC sensor kit; I can hear the drive running + it shows up as a Windows Drive, when I restart using a bootable USB....
