If you have no other drives connected to the system, it is possible that the internal hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. This is one of the most common methods of computer failure I see nowadays. Do you happen to have model number of the laptop? Chosen Solution A client brought me his MacBook. That had an issue (restarting). I decided to reinstall OS-X LION, I have a bootable USB with Mac OS-X Lion but it keeps showing me a folder with question mark. I tried and made a DVD bootable, it keeps ejecting it. I’m out of ideas. Help @floribert - Re-installing Lion is a bit tricky depending on the system you have.
